African Plains
Safaris offers you the opportunity to experience the real unspoiled Africa with its
contrasting landscape and celebrated wildlife.
You will find our
main base in the eastern part of Namibia, bordering the
well-known Kalahari Desert. We also offer you the choice to
base in an area of central west Namibia,
known as the Khomas Hochland, the vast Namibian Highlands.
Our exclusive
hunting areas consist of more than 100,000 acres of
well-managed game farms. For us at African Plains Safaris,
nature conservation and providing high caliber experiences
is top priority. We limit our hunting services to only 15 visitors per year. This
ensures that you will receive the best quality service, and
our full individualized attention.
Schalk Pienaar, the
operations owner of African Plains Safaris, is a registered
professional hunter. He will be your guide on all trips. Schalk will personally meet you at the Windhoek Airport, and
he will supply you with insightful information about the
game, bird life, vegetation and cultural life in Namibia. As
a true Namibian, Schalk Pienaar has a passion for hunting,
archery, wildlife photography and horse riding.
Your accommodation
is set in a safe and relaxed African farm style lodging, with
a picturesque lapa (thatch roof area) consisting of a bar,
braai (barbeque) area and a fireplace where we will
entertain you. At the accommodation venue a well-trained
team of dedicated people will ensure that you will have a
genuine and wonderful African experience.
